Privacy Policy

CrumbKeep is a sourdough companion app. We built it so that your data stays yours: no account, no ads, no tracking, and everything you log lives on your device.

Data stored on your device

Your starter profiles, feeding history, bake journal entries, photos, ratings and notes are stored locally on your iPhone. We have no servers holding this data and no way to access it. Deleting the app deletes this data.

AI photo analysis

When you use the AI Scan feature, the photo you choose is sent over an encrypted connection to our analysis service so an AI model (operated by OpenAI) can generate your report.

• Only the photo and minimal baking context (flour type, hydration, hours since feeding) are sent. No name, email, or identifier is attached.
• We do not store your photos or analysis results on our servers. The report is returned to your device and kept only there.
• Per OpenAI's API policy, data sent through the API is not used to train their models.

If you never use AI Scan, no data leaves your device at all.

Purchases

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your payment details. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.

Notifications

Feeding reminders and recipe timers are scheduled locally on your device. They never touch a server.

Analytics and tracking

CrumbKeep contains no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no trackers.

Children

CrumbKeep is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a new date above.
